Virtual tours

Virtual tour

A virtual tour is when you look at a series of photos and or videos of an existing place it makes you feel as if you are at the place without actually leaving your house. There are many virtual tours that you can experience like the Smithsonian (my favourite) or you may even want to look at London’s landmarks. I like virtual tours because if you disabled and can’t move you can just take one of these tours, they also save you some big bucks that you might need in later life. In my opinion, I think virtual tours are an incredible idea yet there are some things I find that could go wrong e.g lagging of internet. However, in saying this virtual tours have a few highlights, like I said before virtual tours help you save money or if you’re unable to visit that place you can just take one. However you can’t really get a feel of the place and if you want to read a sign of the place you can’t see it whenever there is a highlight with the virtual tour there will usually be a lowlight. But in conclusion I think virtual tours are an amazing way to see the beautiful world in comfort of your own couch, they also show how much technology has really grown.

  10. There swimming sports is fun and you don't need to take them seriously.
  11. Each teacher has a code name.
  12. Today proved 100000.99% that I will get lost on the first day of school.

Lorde and a tweet

We had to read this article about lorde and answer this question

Give your opinion on what happened here. Explain your opinion in full.

A former MP tweeted that it looked like lorde had epilepsy because of the way she danced on stage.

Life ed video/ 48 hr movie challenge

Last week we did a 48 hour movie challenge this is where we made a movie in 48 hours of our school week. My video is above. I have check the sound quality, camera skill, acting, editing, the poem, the quality of the life education message and teamwork.

Sound quality: I think my team did well with our sound quality we all spoke loud enough for the camera to hear us, however, There is one scene where you can't really hear Jamie (aka Tyler.) But if we had more time I think we could have solved this problem.

Camera skills: Jordan the camera girl did some really good shots and held the camera really steady. However I do think we needed a bit more angles, I think the problem was we just didn't have enough time so we would have probably improved that.

Acting: Our acting wasn't that bad. We tried to make our movie as believable as possible. But if we had a bit more time we could of perfected it.

Editing: Our editing was good, we had a montage and we made music to that. I just thought that one scene shouldn't really be there. Once again if we had more time I think we could of spent a bit more of it on editing.

Poem: Our poem was good I really liked it, however I don't think it really worked with our movie and I think it would of been better with a voice over. But it just comes down to time.

Quality of life ed message: Our movie showed REACH WITS which is what we learned in life ed. It also shows peer pressure into drugs which is most likely to happen to somebody. All in all I think we did the life ed message justice.

Teamwork: Our group worked really well as a team and we overcame any problems that we had really well.

A forum

A forum is an online discussion site where people can have conversations in the form of posted text.

A thread is like a topic, it is a group of post (usually organised from oldest to newest.) A thread is defined by a title.

An administrators job is to manage the technical details required for running a site. They can also promote and demote  (they demote and promote the players by if they are playing the rules.)

Here are some forum names and what they are for

MacRumours- Apple products
Major league Gaming- Video Gaming

Here is a forum about chocolate

The rules for a forum can be something like saying stupid things. If you break the rules you will most probably be banned from the site.

Enlargement

What 2 things do you always need to say to describe an enlargement? The scale factor and the centre of enlargement.
What does centre of enlargement mean? The postion of the enlarged shape is the centre of enlargement.
What is a scale factor? How many times you have to make a shape bigger or smaller.
Explain how to work out the scale factor on a grid, and with no grid. Use diagrams you have screenshot from the myimaths lesson.

You will see that the shape on the right has gotten bigger. You want to see look at one of the sdies of the smaller shape. You can see that one of the smaller shapes side is two squares. 2x2=4 and you can see that the bigger shapes side is 4.
What happens to the angle sizes in the corner of the shape when you enlarge it? When you enlarge a shape it gets bigger.

What I learned in life ed

drugs
There are many drugs that you can take and they all can be addictive. You can go crazy for drugs and you can loose everything for them, drugs can also be shot into your drink at a pub. There are classes for the types of drugs, class a does the most damaging and it goes down from there. Even though a drug isn't class a you can get addicted to them and die from it.
Drug over dosses can be a life and death situation. They can knock you out or do stupid things with them.

Alcohol effects
Alcohol can be dangerous and you need to be carful with it. In New Zealand you are allowed to drink alcohol when you're 18.  But just because you're allowed to doesn't mean you should. Alcohol can easily make you drunk which again will make you do stupid things. Imagine your at a party and your drunk, you feel sick and you need to go to the toilet. while you're waiting for the toilet you pass out, what would happen if a bunch of guys (who are also drunk) kick you in the face you can think of the side effects.

Alcohol
There are three types of alcohol drinks, they are:
Wine
Sprits
Beer

If I were to organise them to least amount of alcohol to the most amount it would be:

Beer
Wine
Sprits

You will see that when you are at a pub you will get a very small amount of sprits this is because there is so much alcohol in sprits that that is one standard glass of it.

You are more likely to get alcohol at a party then any other type of drug.

Recap on drugs and alcohol
In life ed I learnt many stories about people who have taken drugs, what they had turned into and then changed there lives. I never want to experience being addictive to drugs. I also learnt that nobody wants to be addictive to drugs you just get pear persuaded to do so.

Puberty
I learnt that there are seven steps of puberty and that you can really know when you finish or start it. There are many people who you can talk to about puberty such as your family. No questions about puberty are dumb so you just have to ask someone.

Life education poem

This is a poem I wrote about life ed.

You are lying there, you're hands are shaking
How long has it been since you've started breaking
The day you decided to say no to coke
Was quite possibly the day you broke

The amazing feeling you once had of cocanie
Has now been refilled with only incredible pain
The pain of loosing the things most important in life

They thought you were scary and that was a sight
You beat your child till he screams loud
So your neighbours wont hear the terrible sound
The family you once had is taken away, and
Your heart breaks in a terrible way

Transformations: Translate

  1. What is translation. Translation is moving a shape from one area to another.
  2. How dose a vector works. A vector tells the person how far left, right or up and down. It kind of looks like a fraction in a bracket the only thing that is different is that the line isn't there. The top number means how left or right you want the number to go and the bottom number indicates how far up or down it needs to go.
  3. A real life example . If you want to move a building you need to use translation to see how many meters or kilometres it needs to go.

you use translation in a grid.

Is the book disappearing?

The book is disappearing. Look around you how many pieces of paper can you see or can you even see a rare book in its eliminate, or can you just see technology. People on there phones, laptops, ipods, kindels and everything else that has something to do with a screen. Our world is getting so 'tech' that we barely realised this crime that we have done to our children. They will never read as many books as you did.

1/3 of our class reads on screens. Thats nine out of 31 people. But imagine in ten years time will books be extinct or will twenty years when they die out. Don't get me wrong, having a tablet or kindle would amazing. Kindles are more portable and are lighter than the 600 page book that you could be reading. They allow the reader to read everywhere and change the font size to there liking.

Libraries are getting more tech too. You can now hire an tablet at many libraries instead actually getting a book. Our school library even has Ebook account where every student in the school can read books online. Our libraries are losing a battle against books.

What do you think when our future generation might not even see a book in there life and we might have to take them to a museum to see one . What do you really think about our dying books.
